Stewards & Volunteers

Volunteer at Wimborne Minster Folk Festival

A festival such as the Wimborne Minster Folk Festival cannot run without the support of volunteers, primarily stewards to help guide and assist our thousands of visitors.

Volunteers will be provided with a (returnable) hi-viz jacket plus free parking within the town, free access to concerts and, for those doing multiple shifts, a food voucher for the Cafe@The Allendale.

The main roles for our stewards are:

  • Daytime – Assisting at one of our two information points, providing a visible presence in the town and controlling access to workshops, daytime concerts, microbrewery area and art exhibition. We also have to provide a minimum number of stewards in order for the Saturday afternoon parade to take place.
  • Evening – Checking tickets at the door for concert events. If you plan on attending one or more concerts this would be ideal as you are guaranteed entry to the event with minimal work to be done once the concert begins.

We will NOT ask you to sell anything or perform collections (other than during the parade if you are helping with that). Ticket and program sales will be carried out by nominated staff at the Information Points.

We would ask for a minimum of one 3-4 hour shift during the festival but if you can manage two or more over the weekend (Friday evening to Sunday evening) that would be most appreciated.

Interested or have any questions?
Please just email stewards@wmff.co.uk and feel free to indicate which activities you are more interested in – no guarantees but we will try and match you up!!
