


Saturday Teatime at the Minster
Wimborne Minster is the name of the historic church as well as the name of the town. It's a wonderful setting for music and we have two shows - this one at 4pm and the Evening concert at 7.30pm. Tickets for each available separately, or save with a combined ticket (or a Weekend Pass).

Sam Sweeney is a veteran of the mighty Bellowhead, former and inaugural artistic director of the National Youth Folk Ensemble, founder member of the acclaimed instrumental trio Leveret, and “Britain’s Premier Fiddler” (Songlines).​ Grace Smith is a fiddle and viola player. Her band, the Grace Smith Trio, released their debut album Overleaf in autumn 2023, to great critical reception. ​​

A second chance to see Eleanor & Gregor, following their performance on Friday Evening at the Allendale.
Post-graduates of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Traditional Music course, Eleanor Dunsdon & Gregor Black are a Glasgow-based harp and percussion duo. Blending traditional with contemporary, vocals and electronics, they draw on jazz, folk and classical genres to create a sound that challenges perceptions of the harp and pushes the boundaries of the traditional music scene. Danny Kyle award-winners at Celtic Connections, and Purbeck Rising winners in 2024, their music has featured on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio Ulster, BBC Radio Scotland, RTÉ Radio 1, FATEA’s Showcase Sessions and Celtic Music Radio.​ Watch: 'Waulking songs'

Sophie Wright
Saturday Teatime at the Minster
Sophie Wright, a native of Purbeck, is best known for her knowledge and repertoire of the Dorset-collected songs and as the creator of works by Time & Tide and Wyvern that combine local stories and folk song into powerful, atmospheric productions - including To Win The Day, Words Take Wing and The King's Shilling. Recently she shared stages with Nick Dow, Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne and Steve Turner promoting Nick's books of songs from the Hammond and Gardiner Collections, and has given talks, illustrated with songs, on those Collections.
